As the visual designer for Diamin’s bimonthly mix program “hoja de ruta”,
I transform their musical explorations into visual pieces. Each artwork is a collage featuring textures and elements pulled directly from the tracks that shape their mixes. These compositions become visual maps of each episode’s unique journey.
The Concept:
The series mirrors Diamin’s process of “infinite digging” through music history - where a single song or album sparks unexpected connections across time and borders. My designs reflect this organic, non-linear research: fragments of sound become fragments of imagery, always pointing to new directions.
The result is a growing visual universe where each piece feels both complete and open-ended: it could have been completely different.
In their words:
"hoja de ruta is an exercise to make visible the musical languages of the serial, deep and infinite digging practice. This show as a binnacle allows to register and diagram the process of research over time. Identifying patterns, trends and interconnection between actors as well as the possibility of retrospective analysis. Understanding these relationships help to solidify and restructure our knowledge, interests and obsessions, often perceived as isolated, floating or capricious, and internalize them as part of the same aesthetic search, guiding the next steps to future affinities.
